Hello there. This is a very long shot ... I'm looking for any info on my granfather Samuel Wright Evans
1861 - 1951. He was born in Bolton and served in the Green Howards in South Africa, and according to family legend was Mentioned in Despatches for an incident concerning Lord Baydon Powell. His wife was Emily (nee Blease Forster)
and he had two daughters, Minnie and Vera Evans. He lived in Irlam for many years.
Any info would be gratefully received.
Thank you.
Annie
