he was name samuel colbourne ,its on his sons birth cert. born 11/03/147 brian samuel colbourne.

Depending on your relationship, or if Samuel has been dead for 25 years or more, you might be able to order his service records from the RAF. They would cost £30 (unless he - or his widow if he is deceased - applied) and a wait of quite some time.
