Here is a previous thread you started in 2011.

And another posted the same month!

As there are far too many marriages to decide which if any are his, try

- searching all trees on this site & contact the owner
- buy his BC
- Use his dob from that to order his Naval Records. They might show if he married while in service
- If the date of birth (from the BC) matches the death as posted above, then buy the DC. The informant might be a relative.

And most importantly, don't start another thread about Michael. It only means that the same research is repeated. If you want to resurrect an old thread, just type a few words in the reply box.
You can find all the threads you've contributed to or started by looking at the 'My Threads' link found to the left of any community page

His records would still be with the MOD.

If your husband can prove that he has died, he would probably be able to order them at a cost of £30 and many months wait. Their priority is living service men and their families.

Is this is your in-laws marriage?
Marriages Mar 1926 (>99%)

Fleming Nathaniel Riches Willesden 3a 391
Riches Jessie B G Fleming Willesden 3a 391

If so, this would be Michael's birth reg

England & Wales, Birth Index, 1916-2005 about Michael J Fleming
Name: Michael J Fleming
Mother's Maiden Surname: Riches
Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1926
Registration District: Willesden
Inferred County: Oxfordshire (ignore the county as its wrong)
Volume Number: 3a
Page Number: 417

Unless you know differently, there is a possibility that Michael is still living. However this death reg does match with his birth details and should be considered.

England & Wales, Death Index, 1916-2007 about Michael John Fleming
Name: Michael John Fleming
Birth Date: 28 Apr 1926
Date of Registration: Jun 1991
Age at Death: 65
Registration District: Hastings and Rother
Inferred County: East Sussex
Volume: 18
Page: 947

As you are enquiring about his dob so that you can access his Naval Records, it would probably be best to order his BC from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ for £9.25.

If you know/think that the death posted above is his, then the informant might have been a relative
