Have decided to just go for a month sub with Ancestry- and perhaps renew fully coming up to winter.

You're right- all of the deaths are so sad, and the ones on the CWGC with no family listed seem especially so- I feel like claiming them!

Let me know if you decide to look at Ancestry members too, and we'll join forces.

Good morning ladies.

No one has replied to the messages I've sent, but only a few have been opened. It's probably down to all those abandoned accounts we know about!
If we've only managed to reach out to one interested person, it's been worth the effort. If the relatives those memories aren't recorded soon, they'll be lost for ever.
It's been very humbling reading the young ages of some of the deceased especially the airmen in their early 20s.

Gritty, phone ancestry and ask for a loyalty discount. I got 25% off earlier this week
:-D

It is a good idea to try and identify close relatives on Ancestry, but we need to co-ordinate efforts. I had thought of re-typing the list on the OP, to give full names as we know them. The original was a C&P from the BL site. The tabs didn't transfer too well!

Possible for 1911:
1911 England, Wales & Scotland Census Transcription
31 Bridgewater St Runcorn, Runcorn, Cheshire, England
John Connor Head Married Male 34 1877 Co Wexford Ireland Resident Dock Porter
Mary Connor Wife Married Female 33 1878 Runcorn Chester

Norah Connor Daughter - Female 6 1905 Runcorn Chester
Kathleen Connor Daughter - Female 3 1908 Runcorn Chester -
John Connor Son - Male 2 1909 Runcorn Chester

hmmm, really not sure about this census. I can see a matching Runcorn birth, but it seems quite a way from Ellesmere Port (and it's ConnOr, not Conner). Might need someone else to look?

Morning :-D

Disappointed that quite a few messages still unopened, and no replies from yesterday's batch :(

My Ancestry sub ran out last night, I'm unsure whether to renew it- but I was thinking that maybe we should message on ancestry too? Or perhaps just the one's we can see are more closely linked? (if I decide to renew I might take a look).

EDIT: Just had reply- confirming the person is their relative and thanking us for link :-)
