Michael, you could contact the Western Front Association to see if they have Augustus Albert's pension cards (these are different to the so called and incomplete pension records on Ancestry).

There's a charge of around £25 (partially refundable if no record found) and it takes some time but can be well worth it.

I have Augustus Albert COLLINS, who may have been born 1876 in
Leicester, (this birth looks most likely so far).
He seems to have either a younger brother or other close relative Horace
COLLINS born 1884 in Sevenoaks, as they seem to have an attachment to
the same address.
Augustus married Elizabeth EVEREST in Sevenoaks in 1904, and during WW1
he was a Private in the Royal West Kent Regiment, he died age 44 in 1921
at Sevenoaks...

I know my Grandfather was in the Army during the first world war as I have photo of him but I can not find anything about him, all I know is that he died after the war in about 1921/22 and my grandmother received a war pension also he was in one of the battalions of the Royal West Kents.
HELP!
