Where have you found the info about possible NOK Cane?

There is this possible born Salford and living there 1911 with Mother Sarah
(no idea if him but a Thomas Walsh dies Salford 1917 age 53, born 1863/4, so a couple of years out from census age)

UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929
Says back pay & gratuity to sole legatee, Sarah. I think abbreviations suggest she was his mother.

Can't see any record which would give his age at death or date/yob. Upto 70% of WW1 full service records were destroyed during WW2 bombing.

Ok yes that would make sense...His mother was Sarah, I just could not make head nor tall from the info,..I did flip through more pages to see if other names were more clearer..Hence you have now confirmed for me ...Thank you

Sorry. Sqush that Sarah was his sister. Sorry (if this is the correct record he would be in his 40s..His parents were well Deceased by now and they were Edward and Margaret walsh (nee Tomlinson)
