Unfortunately not. You need to know full name, date of birth, and service number.

As long as you have his date of birth you are OK. It starts asking for the service number but I know of people who have just sent DOB and received the docs. They just want some way of identifying the person especially with common names. :-)

Yes, Pat is right. I managed to get both my father's and my father-in-law's army records without knowing their service numbers. However that was probably 10 years ago so things might have changed by now.
