Can anyone tell me how to attach a photograph showing my uncle George Dochety in uniform please?
I knew nothing of his military service and want try try to identify the uniform.

Up load it to your Keepsafe, then click on the photo.
Once you've done that, select 'Share with everyone' under the privacy option drop down list.
Remember to save.
Copy & paste the URL onto the thread. It should look something like this but with different end numbers

The url is right at the top of your screen. It’s where you could type eg bbc news if you wanted to find that site.

Very little info for you but he was an officer.

As an officer I looked into the national archives and found

This is wonderful and totally unexpected news. I had no record of George's military service.
"My " George was born 2nd March 1892 in Glasgow and according to Census forms lived in Wishaw in 1901 and 1911.before emigrating to America in 1926.
Does the Archive give George's date of birth?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

So far as I know, "my" George was born in Glasgow on 2 March 1892 and lived in Wishaw, Scotland

Joe - have you clicked on the blue typing in Pat's post? That will take you to the (trusted) page on the National Archives.
You can see for yourself that no personal details given on the precis. You would have to contact the NA to request a quotation for a copy to be sent to you.

I had seen the "trusted page" thank you (and George definitely had the middle Francis (New York census 1940).
I'll try the National Archives.

Joe, although we can find title references on line, if you want to discover more about his military service, you’ll need to contact the National Archives.

As the tittle references indicate, his service records haven’t been digitalised. You’ll need to ask for a quote to have them copied & sent to you.
Although helpers are generous with their time & willing to use current subscriptions to other sites, a straight cash outlay is down to you!

If you fancied a trip to the Archives in Kew, you’ll be able to read the records for free. However, the cost of travel, & possibly overnight accommodation, would likely to be greater than the copy fees.
