I have been told John Chapman born 1887 Lincs was in the First World War does anyone have any info on him please?

Over 70% of the documents relating to service in WW1 were destroyed in the bombing of WW2.

Have you anymore information, e.g. was he married, did he survive, was he just John Chapman.
