Have you taken note of all the info I posted?

Tina

Yes thank you, his year of birth seems wrong on the census though 1861 as i made it 1866 as he was 46 when he married but i know the other names he lived with.

Erika do you know why a record would be closed?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 30 Jan 2021 14:39

1939 records are closed because the person was born less than 100 years ago, and their death hasn't been picked up

Easy to find info if you google

The records of people who are younger than 100 and still alive, or who died after 1991, are officially closed, to protect the privacy of individuals and their families.28 Jul 2017

You stated that Joseph was born in Birmingham. What is the source of that info, please , as you didn't know when he was born?

Whats was his father's occupation? Or was he 'deceased' when Joseph married?

Who were the witnesses?

Tina

Tina Report 30 Jan 2021 15:00

I know it was Warwickshire now know it may not have been Birmingham as received the wrong information. His father was deceased but it says he was a farm labourer. Witnesses were n stagg and Charles gerrygrove.

His birth year on 1939 Register (not a census) is probably accurate. It matches the death registration I gave you

He lied about his age when he married.

Still not sure why you say he was born in Warwickshire, as no records have yet been found which give birthplace info, and your original thoughts about his birth year were wildly inaccurate

'Deceased' fathers on marriage certs were sometimes fictitious

You need to see if you can find Joseph in any census prior to his marriage

Try looking for him yourself at:

What was his declared address on the marriage cert?

Thought you had to show identification when you got married. The register is wring on my nans year of birth it says 1918 but she was born 1916. The address on marriage certificate is 50 spon Street Coventry
