As there were no Irene Bristows born anywhere in Surrey 1923+/- 1, either she had

(a) lied about her age at marriage, or
(b) lied about her birthplace to Lavinia [ CORRECTION: Lavinia's friend ], or
(c) wasn't born as Bristow,
and/or
(d) had changed or added to her first name.
Or some other possibility I haven't thought of!

There was no Irene Evelyn Edwards, with any surname, born anywhere in England/Wales in 1923+/-1

Dead end, I'm afraid.

The person looking for her mother's info was raised by her father, who didn't marry the mother, so no possible way of tracing her.

As there is no proof of the woman's death, the daughter can't apply for Service records

BTW, Lavinia is NOT connected - she's helping a friend
