Barry Report 24 Jan 2024 13:50

I am the brother of the above, and I am looking for his service record in the Royal Artillary, I know that he served during the the resettlement of the Jews from after the second world wararound 1946 onward, he must now be well over 90 years of age. The last time that I knew of his whereabouts was when he was remarried in Merton South Wimbledon London in when he was 88 years of age, He was born in Lincolnshire in 1927 near Horncastle Lincoln.
Any help would be gratefully recieved, Thanks.

Hello, Barry -
Please remove your email address from your post. It's against board guidelines, and also lays you open to unwanted email from anyone finding your address on this public site.

Re Ronald -
WW2 service records are not online.
If you have the required information (and it seems you probably don't) you can order a copy here:

https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-records-of-service

From FreeBMD -
he was born Ronald Charles Frederick Robinson in Horncastle in 1927. (As you know).

I'm not posting full details, as he may still be living.
I don't see his death in England or Wales, at least up to 2021.

I don't see him definitely on Electoral Rolls.

If he has died, you would need to send a copy of his death cert when ordering service records.

This will be him. It gives you his service number at least, which you would also need for ordering records:

R C F Robinson
in the UK, Military Campaign Medal and Award Rolls, 1793-1949
Name R C F Robinson
Service Date 1945-1948
Service Place Palestine
Campaign or Service Palestine
Regiment or Unit Name Royal Artillery (Field)
Regimental Number 14186617

Another bit of record - at least I assume this is the right person, although a different number:

Robert Charles Fredrick Robinson
in the UK, World War II Royal Artillery Tracer Cards, 1939-1948
Name Robert Charles Fredrick Robinson
Enlistment Date 15 Feb 1940
Regiment Royal Artillery
Military Unit 22 Medium & Hvy Regt RA
Service Number 956039

EDIT:
OOPS! NO - NOT THIS ONE - as per Greyghost's post below.

Unfortunately, there's not really anything we can suggest, due to the limitations of what's available online.

If he is deceased, you could buy a copy of his WW2 service record - but you would need to supply a copy of his death certificate.

If he is still alive, you can't order a copy of his service record without his permission.

Although there are lots of Ronald Robinsons on the Electoral Rolls, there isn't one listed with middle initials C F, so we can't find him definitely on the ERs.

His marriage is too recent to show up online.

Do you know his wife's name? Perhaps we could find her on the Electoral Rolls.

Thanks for removing your email address.
