Hi all,

My gggg aunt Isabella Featherstone married William Thornton and the couple emmigrated to Australia. I know they had some children but this is all I know ... does anyone out there know how I can find out more?

Isabella was born in Guisborough, Yorkshire, and she and William left England sometime in the 1880s/1890s.

Hi Peter - can you give their approx ages? Parents' names? ..... I noticed a Mr & Mrs WG Thornton (ages 30 & 28yrs resp) arriv Victoria 1891 with an infant (1yr) Any more clues? ...... Valerie

Hi Peter.

Have checked BDM's for the State of Victoria.
Births from 1890 upwards
Marriages from 1890 to 1942
Deaths from 1890 to 1985

Nothing found.

Some Immigrants sailed to one particular port/state, but then moved on and settled in another State.....as did some of my own Greats....... Sailed to Sydney N.S.W from Liverpool/:Lancs.......but after arrival travelled on to Melbourne, Victoria to settle ( having more children in Victoria )

It may be worth checking out also the online N.S.W Family History index.

Thank you for all of your help - yes, this is Isabella Featherstone in 1881, and she was born at Guisborough in 1864, the daughter of Eleazer and Elizabeth Featherstone.
