Find Ancestors

Hello,

I have a marriage certificate for 1842, the bride is Hannah Brocklebank Rigmaiden and the groom is John Ellerton. Hannah's father is Edward who is a wine merchant, and John's father is Richard Ellerton who is a collector of taxes.

I am unsure how to research back any further and would be grateful for any suggestions/tips please.

Have you found the bride and groom on the 1841 census?
Prior to 1837, you will have to research the parish records.
Try looking on the IGI at www.familysearch.org for the baptism records.

Thank you for your replies. I have not been able to locate Richard Ellerton on the 1841 census.

I have now found John's baptism and birth on the familysearch website - thank you. I will now see if I can find Hannah on the same website.
