The 1901 site, linked to on here, shows occupations... John Mills 16 Hants Eling Southampton Copythorne Dairy Man John Mills 38 Dudley Staffs Birmingham Aston Dairyman John Mills 17 Bristol Hotwells Bristol Bristol Milk Carrier I'll cross-reference with Ancestry. The Dudley one is married with 4 kids! The others are too young. Oh, btw - the Kendal one lied about where he was from. There isn't another one in any other census.

Is there anyway I can find him through his occupation as 'dairyman'?

Suzanne Thanks so much for your help - that could be him although I think he was born 1869 or 70 - it doesn't help that I'm unsure as to his place of birth and that his name is such a common one. Will keep searching. Trudy

Hi Do you know when and where Ann was born please? And can not get onto the official 1901 website at moment but you can do an advanced search on there giving an occupation with name, you might want to try that. Suzanne For reference: Anne Mills abt 1866 Barford, Warwickshire, Daughter Leamington Priors Warwickshire John R S Mills abt 1900 Leamington, Warwickshire, Grandson Leamington Priors Warwickshire Mary Ann Scurr abt 1837 Spennythorn, Yorkshire, Wife Leamington Priors Warwickshire Robert Scurr abt 1834 Middleton Scres, Yorkshire, Head Leamington Priors Warwickshire Anne is down as married.

Am trying to trace my great grandfather John Mills, born c 1869 in either Warwicks or Suffolk. He married Anne Scurr in Warwickshire in 1899 and marriage cert stated he was a dairyman, and father was John or James, a nurseryman. At the time of the marriage Anne and John lived in Leamington with Anne's parents. They had four children between 1900 and 1904 and after that John disappeared. I am trying to trace his place of birth and hence his parents and siblings. He was not with Anne at the parents' house in the 1901 census. Where do I go from here?
