Katrina, I'm puzzled by this one. Alice appears in every census from 1861 to 1901 BUT In 1861 and 1871 she is shown with Father James b 1818/1821 and mother Alice born 1824. Both parents are shown as born in Euxton, which is about 4 miles from Chorley. In later censuses, father is shown as James b c1841 and mother Susannah born c 1841. Both born in Chorley. But Alice senior is still in 1881 census as a widow. Conclusion - there is more than one Alice born about 1860 in Chorley - or am I wrong? **Update** Births found in Q1 1861 and Q2 1862.
