Can anyone help? Mary Ann Martha Appelman (Appleman) was born 14.Jul.1851, St Leonards Street Pimlico. Her father: Joseph John Appelman. She had a son, Joseph William, born 27.Jan.1868 Brunel Street Lambeth. His father: Arthur Windaybank (although the birth certificate states WindEbank, and mother formerly "Pellman" - the birth was registered by Mary Ann). For the 1871 Census for Clapham, Arthur is listed as widowed..... but I can't find any listing for Mary Ann's marriage or death between the (guessed at) dates of 1867-1871 (I've tried Ancestry.com, FreeBMD and FamilySearch, not even a Q by Q search through 1837OnLine has anything). Arthur remarried in 1874. Any ideas on where I can look? Yours, Trudy

They may not have been married. My ancestor wrote mrs .......formerly on the children's birth certs but I found her marriage to the father 17 years later. It may be your ancestor remained single or the "husband" was married to someone else.
