JACKIE hi, had another look. most of the john horners are in the 1600's. from waddington parish registers a john horner married alice halsall, both from grindleton. 31/12/1807. its probably nothing, but.........you never know, good luck, sue.

Thanks Sue -John Horner is as far as I've got. They were weavers (as I suppose most of Halifax was, which is no help to you whatsoever!) Son James married Margaret Rhodes. Any help? This marriage may have been Leeds, Wortley as this is where their children were born. Sorry, have nothing else to try and identify the right ones. Thanks for looking all the same. Jackie xx

PAULA. lots of them in hartshead [had map out again, is 4 miles from midgeley] baptisms [B- brearley] 26/3/1758 george son of john B a joiner of clifton 25/12/1778 judeth dua of george b a joiner of clifton 29/7/1781 sarah dau of george B a joiner of clifton 16/2/1783 george son of jeremy B a joiner of clifton 19/5/1783 hannah dau of george B a joiner of clifton marriages george B <m>mary fairburn 8/9/1778 in the 1790's there is a minister and a church warden, name of george B in hartshead, that might be checkable somewhere. burials 13/10/1784 mary wife of george B a joiner of clifton. thought i had better give you them all, might be a family connection all being joiners, sue.

JACKIE, there are 185 horners, most of them around BURNSALL - had a look on the map, its near appletreewick, approx 16/20 miles from halifax. do you know james mums maiden name, and have you got any one called lister horner, from 1604 there are loads of mentions of the surname, just look to be one gen away. if you can connect them to burnsall, e mail me, sue.

Hi Sue This may be along shot but could you check any records for the family of John Beck born Halifax 1823 father Henry, also Halifax (would be 1790-1800ish) Also I have a James Horner born Sowerby, Halifax 1823, father John. Sue Widmerpool request All I have is a Samuel Burton marrying Mary Savage in 1773 Widmerpool, Notts. Is it possible to find an exact date? I also would like to know if there is a christening date for Samuel or Mary about 1753 or thereabouts in Widmerpool or maybe Willoughby on the Wolds. hi caz,i found some. 26/12/1817. john bennett . butcher aged 25 of newark married mary goodman aged 25 of bathley. 18/4/1809. john bennett married mary eggleston at radford, notts. 23/1/1792 john bennett married mary godby at st peters, notts. 17/4/1786 john bennett married mary harcourt at st mary's. notts. mainly marriages at notts, lots of bennetts on though, hope this helps, if you need to e mail me and i can check back further, sue.

paula, had a look on the 1881 census. [ the parish records i have are before this] 3 churchill court, bowling, nr bradford. john edmondson 32 machine fitter mary jane [wife] 32 harry [son] 11 john [son] 5 all born in bradford. hope these are the right ones, sue. will have a look at the parish records tomorrow, is earier to do a few at a time, sue.
