When i started doing my family tree, i remember two girls visiting our house with my dad when i was about 5 yeears old, and i always wondered who they were, i have a photograph of myself stood outside the house with the girls. Dad had been married before he was very young at the time which was a bit of a shock, anyway i found the marriage certificate then i looked for children and found two girls born in 1926 and 1928, I had two half sisters but where were they living? I managed to trace one sister so i wrote to her she was over the moon we met up and what a wonderful happy emotional day we all shared , and the two girls in the photo were my two neices and not my sisters. If only i had traced my family tree earlier i would have met my other half sister but she had past away which was sad. I was shown lots of photos of my grandparents and i learnt lots about my dad that i didnt know,he died aged 60 when i was 9, so my half sister was able to show me photos, tell me about what he was like as a young man and her dad too. I have a family that i didnt have before and i am happy we started this journey doing the family tree with genes reunited. thanks.
