Hi,
Started using the new tree as I have to and have hit upon a problem aleady. Not got any feedback from support so I thought I'd see if anyone else is having the same problem, or has any ideas about how to solve it.
Each time I add a new person as soon as I hit 'save' I get them twice.

Yes others are having problems but only GR can help so i would Carrie on using the feedback facility or the contact us under the help tab to report these problems

they are busy and have said that they will not be able to respond to every report or feedback they receive

GR are currently beta testing so hopefully they may get the site working better if members continue to send as much feedback as possible

I am experiencing similar issues
* Duplicates
* Data disappearing
* Links breaking resulting in orphaned sections of my tree
* It couldn't even find my name this morning!

So many people have this problem that the GEDCOM export appears to be overloading. Members are racing to save years of valuable research from being lost.

This is seriously bad Genes Reunited. I for one have lost all confidence in their ability to keep my data safe.

Hi,
Looks like I'll just have to wait until Genes start fixing things. Luckily this is not my only copy of the tree. I keep everything backed up on paper, in duplicate!

Roy

The beta site so far is only a makeover of the site appearance, and some adjustments to the workings on the boards, etc.

The tree has not yet been touched.

Sylvia, when GR removed the link for the old tree on the main site

later that same day i logged on to the beta site and then used the family tree function to open my tree but noted that the use old tree function was listed and i did click on that link,

it opened my tree in the old tree format,

I pointed this out on a thread and then got a pm
From: Estelle

Dear Roy,
thanks for pointing that out. We have now removed the link to the old tree.
Kind regards,
Estelle

So although the beta appears to only be linked to the makeover this would suggest to me that the the very fact that it was only accessed through the beta site GR have included beta testing the new tree,
which could also account for the increased amount and scope of complaints about the faults with the new tree on the main site

I could still see my old tree yesterday (using an old link on Favourites)

It's gone. It died overnight. RIP :-(

Not using the new one until it's fixed.

Hi,
I've now had a reply. Just the standard 'we are aware of the problem and are working to fix it'. Not much help.
