Suggestions

It must be very upsetting that so many have rejected this new layout. If I was a member of this Genes team and my programmer had said he was getting good feedback and it had been tested and it all worked, I would be very upset and angry by what has subsequently occurred..

They are young people who gave the programmer far too much license, and have been bombarded with abuse for a month now. Poor Estelle is doing her best, but we see nothing of the others.

I would have more sympathy if they told us they knew we were very unhappy and that they had a plan to dig themselves out of this mess.

But absolutely nothing since 2nd Aug. The feedback is still officially "good". What on earth would they call "bad feedback".

Now over 4 weeks of people not using the site for listing relatives and checking for matches. Site becoming a pale shadow of Facebook.

Is there any indication that the Team have actually read any of the 3 new threads yet ?

Wonder when GR will start doing this on the new threads

- why remove it? Previously, when a thread has been actioned, ACTIONED has been added and the thread has been locked, one example being http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards/board/suggestions/thread/1267253

BUT why have no details of the new threads on this board not been posted on the Announcement Board

we will still make a point of reading all posts on this board, not just the ones we have started. But we can't guarantee that we can reply to every single post.

We will consider your suggesting of just locking a thread rather than removing it.

Why not just close the thread rather than remove it ?

Does the fact that GR Team will read the 3 new threads mean they totally ignore all previous good suggestions

Hi John, I've added them now! I wanted to get the guidelines up first. We didn't want to add too many suggestions threads so I have limited it three right now. Members can still post their own suggestions individually.

EDIT - unless I'm missing something, they are THREADS rather than the stated BOARDS

We have set up three new suggestions boards, state Genes today in the first thread stuck to top of page.

Where are they? :-S

Complaining - whether it is about new layout or anything else - can be a good positive thing. How many who dislike complaints on here about the new tree would flame somebody in a supermarket complaining because their tin of coffee was a tin of soup.

In fact, I wonder what would have happened to these boards over last 4 weeks if Genes had not removed old tree option against the wishes of most of their paying clientele. Looking at dates of posts, these boards were already dying on their feet.

Many like me have come on and contributed for first time. And some of us have enjoyed it. No doubt it has disturbed some of the fluffy "love you Sandra" afficianados.

But it has given some experienced surf boarders a chance to show off their knowledge of the bored rules, their use of correct terminology and their faultless knowledge again and to flame us newbies and try to shut us up.

Some very interesting threads on chat, genealogy and suggestions, but even those now seem very slow indeed. At least Estelle is now contributing regularly, and I am very pleased about that. :-)

I agree PP...I have also stopped readng them which leaves not much else :-)

Must say I thought there would have been far more contributors to this thread.

Maybe they are all too busy starting their own threads on the 'New Tree' or other problems again and again to bother reading or if read making any comments.

Am I the only person who when looking at both the Chat boards am fed up with the constant barrage of threads about the same thing, complaining. I think in the last month or so that seems to be all that has been posted. Thus making the site very unappealing to even viist for more than a few minutes.
