Seeing as so many of the suggestion (both good and bad) do not seem to have ever been acted upon.

It is time for this board to be put out of its misery?

I suggested ages ago that this board should be closed as it has out lived its original purpose.

Did also ask the Team if every suggestion had been listed so that feedback could be given but as always got no proper rely to that question. I felt as if they have not read through all the posts on this board to list all the suggestions. .

A few of the good suggestions have never been mentioned in the Board roundup thread

PLEASE DO NOT: send me information concerning your thread on the board as it should be posted on your request where all members can see it. PLEASE DO NOT: ask me for help with lookups as they should be placed on the boards to get the best possible result. PLEASE DO NOT: open your tree just because I have posted information on your thread as I will not be related. THANK YOU. Researching Carter, Cass and Walker in England. It seems to be going the way of the Geneological Chat board. i.e. it is being used as an extra Find Ancestors board rather than the purpose for which it was intended.

I do think that NO-ONE should do searches for any such posting as Ken mentions ..............

post that searches are done on other Boards, especially Find Ancestors and Genealogical Chat, but not on Suggestions. The reason being that most people do not look on Suggestions, and there are many willing people to help on those other 2 Boards.

AND also send a pm to the poster with that same information



BUT ................ be kind about it!

yes, this Board is probably past its "best before" date .......... if only because it is no longer a Suggestions Board, but a Complainers Board.

There are very few Suggestions actually made now ............... it's complaining about this or that not working, or about this or that suggestion not being implemented.


A possible good idea when it began, but it lost it as soon as GR staff stopped reading and commenting.


Natasha just cannot catch up with all that has gone on!

Yes, in my opinion.

If each suggestion had been dealt with at the time it had been posted, then I would have replied no to the question. Unfortunately pages and pages of seemingly unanswered suggestions may give a poor impression of the site to outside viewers.

Lets be honest here, Joy is about the only person I see now on this board suggesting improvements and in the main her posts appear to be being ignored by the GR team.

A reply to any post on here from the Team would be something. But more often than not, the only people commenting are other GR members....

when the board was first introduced on August 24th 2012, Genes said that they would remove any posts which were not suggestions.
Can´t see that this has ever happened.

This board has been around since Apr/ May 2011 same as Genealogy chat and Living Relatives

Phil put up a sticky on GC saying that the board was not for look ups in June 2011 and any look ups would be removed....have they? NO

So I don't care anymore as this company cannot implement any of their rules...so let them get on with it.

I lost any faith I had with them after I reported a thread reason given Data protection....it was put back and an email sent to me saying it wasn't abusive :-S :-S :-S

Have they forgotten that this is a Genealogy site? and now are more interested in the reported thread/posts on the General Chat board to worry about someone elses private life splattered over the internet for all to see
