Get rid of 'marked as answered' COMMUNITY MANAGER

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Jacqueline Report 12 Jan 2015 16:38

I realise this will have been aired before, but it really is an infuriating function in its present form

The majority of people who use it do so wrongly, and, there being no way to reverse it, the ticks remain on countless threads which are still effectively open.

Please, GR, see sense.

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Jan 2015 17:57

this has most definitely been raised before, several times if memory serves me right ........................

and yes, it is most annoying, as it cannot be reversed

they're working on it :-D

surely it should be easy enough to remove the blasted thing!

Hi everyone,

I've addressed this suggestion in my latest round-up:

- We’re looking into getting this changed. I know this has come up a few times and people have requested for its complete removal or for the wording to be changed to: “I don’t require any further help”. We are discussing both options and I will update you when I know more.

Community Manager for Genes Reunited.

SylviaInCanada Report 13 Jan 2015 00:36

why not just remove it?????????????

Jacqueline Report 13 Jan 2015 16:57

How long does it take do something so simple?

Joy Report 15 Jan 2015 09:55

Perhaps it will be addressed again in the Suggestions Board Roundup.

Jacqueline Report 16 Jan 2015 09:31

Whenever that happens...........not exactly a regular occurrence, is it? Despite the original post stating it would happen bi-weekly.

SylviaInCanada Report 22 Jan 2015 17:41

see Suggestions Board Round-up

as per usual

:-( :-( :-( :-(

JoonieCloonie Report 6 Feb 2015 21:20

please get rid of it ... please please get rid of it

it is used only by people who do not know how the boards work

and it is used by them only to mark a question from a helper that they have answered ... and then the entire thread gets marked as answered in the forum list

it should not even be possible to mark someone else's post as answered, or any other post but the OP, even if the stupid thing has to continue to exist

it is stupid, it is completely wrongly engineered, and it is far worse than useless

pleeeeease get rid of it

DazedConfused Report 7 Feb 2015 11:53

Surely getting rid of sonething like this will help to make the rest of the site more efficient.

All these silly add ons take up memory which can be used far more effectively and efficiently elsewhere on the site where needed.

Rocket science NO.

K.I.S.S. Keepp It Simple, Stupid ;-)

Suggestions Board Round-Up

Community Manager Advisor Report 16 Feb 2015 11:07

16th February 2014 - A round-up of the latest suggestions from the Suggestions Board:

• Remove 'marked as answered'
- Thank you Jacqueline. This has been raised before and will be looked at again.

JoonieCloonie Report 17 Feb 2015 01:31

let's hope they don't get eyestrain from looking at it so many times

How utterly ridiculous.

Jacqueline Report 24 Apr 2015 09:17

At least.............make it REVERSIBLE

Don't be so darned STUBBORN and PIG-HEADED.

It's a BAD feature.....admit it, and remove it.

WHY are you so unwilling to concede that you GOT IT WRONG?

nameslessone Report 24 Apr 2015 15:51

Has anyone heard Anything from our new Community Manager?

SylviaInCanada Report 24 Apr 2015 19:56

nameslessone ..................... nope!

and it's way past time for a "monthly round up" .............. in fact it's TWO months since the last one

Jacqueline .......... I'm seriously beginning to think that there are no technical support staff at GR and therefore no-one who can do something as simple as this

Jacqueline Report 7 May 2015 16:36

WHEN will this be addressed?
