Colin Tainsh Campbell

I am trying to find details on Colin Tainsh Campbell, a weaver, whom I believe was born in Crieff Perthshire.

His 1st son, also Colin Tainsh Campbell was born in Acklington Northumberland in 1810. This would indicate that he was born around 1780-1790 ish. According to the son's birth record his wife was Ann Dawson from Alva Clackmannanshire. Could anyone help me find a marriage record for Colin and Ann or details of either of their births.
I realise that looking for Campbells in Scotland is no mean task but maybe there is someone out there with the means to find them. ! thanks Janet

I have found the birth of the son in the IGI but have not found anything further back, I will freely admit I am not an expert in searching on the IGI though. if you have suggestions of the fields that will find me that info I will gladly search

Janet - it looks like you've seen either the Warkworth parish record, or the Durham Bishop's transcripts (images 38/39 of 727) at:

Just a couple of minor points - John's pob=Acklington Park, and Alva was in Stirling until 1891, when it got given back to CLK. See Groome:

Since most SCT records in the IGI are pre-1875, the IGI treats Alva as in STI.
One can use the batch # to limit a search to entries in one parish register for one block of time. E.g., from:

one can see c114702 covers baptisms in the C of S parish of Alva STI for (supposedly) 1655-1819.

There are 3 hits in 1775-1786, but with the info we've got, this is at least 2 too many.

If young Colin stays in the Warkworth area thru 1841, it's reasonable to suppose his parents did too. If they're not on 1841, and there's no suitable d.rego for them post 1837q2, you could trawl the the DUR BTs for their burial, although I expect that's not really the direction you're most interested in.

yes I did find the info on the transcripts, the family have been in or around Alnwick too, i am slowly trawling through these records to see if I can find a death record but not all years are complete as you know. At least this would give me an idea of the birth date for Colin senior.
