Also, there is no such birth as the one you posted for Cathy/Catherine.

(You should edit and delete her birthdate from your post, as it's too detailed personal info.)

Right.

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=8782

Births index at Ancestry; as I was saying, do an "exact search" for surname Large, mother's surname Pearce, in a date range that seems right.

Unfortunately I don't see a marriage for the names you have given so don't know when or where the births might be.

Sorry my mistake it could be Catherine not Cathy

John Report 13 Mar 2011 21:57

We are unable to confirm the details of the death because they are not accessible for deaths after 2005.

Were you not in contact with her before she died, only weeks ago? You have no first-hand information from her? Can you now obtain a copy of her death certificate, or reliable info from someone who has a copy, for

her *full name* recorded on the death certificate
her date of birth recorded on the death certificate

??

Finding your threads is very simple.

You click on the link on the left called "My threads participation". You then click on the thread you want.

If you are confused about using the site, try clicking on Help Clinic in the upper left. You'll see where it says not to post things more than once.

It's unfortunate that you are disappointed about people pointing out that you have wasted our time. The fact is that you have, and the appropriate response would be an apology, not to tell us how disappointed *you* are.

You haven't done anything in a year since you were first given that possible 1919 birth -- like get that birth certificate, get the Cook-Pearce marriage certificate ...

Those are things that you have to do. Nobody else is going to pay for certificates for your family history!

Unfortunately such a recent death is not available online so the details of whether she had a second forename will only be available by obtaining a copy of her death certificate from the registry office of the district in which she died.

Her death certificate should also reveal her true birth date assuming of course that the person who registered her death knew it accurately.

John Report 13 Mar 2011 19:08

Well I know for certain Constance Cook passed away on the 20th January 2011 but I am not certain about the second forename many thanks
I hope this helps

John,

The time that has been wasted is that spent by those who have tried to assist you. If you had "revived" your original post dated February 2010 rather than starting new ones then the information that had been found on your original thread would not have needed researching again.

There are some anomalies amongst the information posted on the 3 threads. For example If I remember in your first (Feb 2010) you said that you thought that Constance was born in Coventry, in your latest, in Edmonton. Another being that you firmly stick to the belief that she was born on 10/7/1919 but seem prepared to accept that her birth was registered in the Apr/May/Jun quarter.

If you firmly believe that the 1946 marriage to John Pearce is her marriage then you need to purchase a copy of that marriage certificate to try to establish who she named as her father. With that information you should be able to discover more about him and who he married.

It would also help others to help you if you would answer the questions I asked earlier:

When and where did she die? Do you know for certain whether or not she had a second forename?

John

John Report 13 Mar 2011 18:45

I thank you for all your input and helping me however was disapointed that you said it was a waste of time and it has taken me over a year and may just like to say that i am fairly new to creating my tree and get lost with information that may be handed to me
Regards

Since we know that she married John Pearce, Constance D Cook born in 1919 seems to be the only option, unless Cook was not her birth surname. If John feels like bothering to get her marriage certificate, he can find that out.

I am assuming that Constance is deceased, but I do not see a matching death record for Constance Pearce.

Yeah, I'd say a waste of time -- for someone who has been given exactly the same information three times now in a little over a year, and has done nothing himself but keep re-posting the same material here.

One of the threads showing on the boards may not be accessible because of the formatting of the "surname"; it may be read here:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/trying_to_find/thread/1204100

("constance cook." is not a surname)

Jonesey's right ... that birth reg is out by a quarter.

But then people didn't always know or remember their correct date of birth.

Answers would be useful. Her name at death and date/place of death in particular would help.

If all else fails, you will have to get her marriage certificate to see whether she stated her father's name, and try to find his marriage / her birth to match.

As for finding the mother's DOB -- nobody here is a magician! And you have access to many of the same resources we have, especially FreeBMD.

If you establish the parents' names -- and you may need the marriage certificate to get *their* ages and fathers' names too -- you will then have to find the birth of the mother and get the birth certificate to have her exact date of birth.

BTW, there's no Cook-Hind marriage 1900-1919 anywhere near the vicinity of that birth ...
