Find Ancestors

Doing some research and have been asked to find Rebecca & Naomi Janes in 1881 census.

Rebecca born Ivinghoe Bucks c1823
1841 living in Ivinghoe Aston with her married sister
1851 Edlesborough Bucks lodging with a Mary Heels
1861 she has moved in with Richard Janes who is a widower in Edlesborough
1871 head of family Eaton Bray
Naomi Janes born Edlesborough Bucks 1866 reg Leighton Buzzard June 1866 3b 416
She is with the family in 1871 and the youngest of 4 surviving children.The others are Emma, Elizabeth. and John.
Naomi married Benjamin Room in 1887 and on 1891 and 1901 they are living in Dunstable Beds.

Problem is we cant find them in 1881.There is another Naomi born Edlesborough in 1861 to Daniel & Sarah Janes which is not our Naomi.There is a death for a Rebecca March 1875 but age is way out.

Can anyone help please

Have you tried working your way through the Edlesborough census for 1881, seeing if a family looks familiar and wrongly recorded?

Lots of Janes in Edlesborough

I think the 1875 death for Rebecca could be the right one and informant has given wrong age.

We know that Naomi married Benjamin Room in 1887 and she appears on 3 later census so dont know why we cant find her in 1881.

Just been helped with another thread in 1901.

Wondered if anyone can have another look at Rebecca and Naomi please.
