Can I ask for your help please?

I cant find a marriage for Ann Corson to a John Green.

Their daughter Charlotte Green was born in Co Durham in abt 1862

Their son ...William John Corson Green was born Kelton Kirkcudbright Scotland in 1864.

Ann later married an Andrew Gatains in 1866 in South Shields but on Freebmd she gives Corson as her name.

She then married David Weatherhead in South Shields 1881 giving her name as Ann Gattings.

So was she ever married to John Green ?

I would appreciate any help.

Many Thanks

Sheila

If she married Gattings as Corson, she had not been married to Green - unless she was committing bigamy, in which case, she would probably use her maiden name.

Thank you Flick for you prompt reply,I thought the same, but with having two children,it made me wonder who this John Green was.

Thank you Ann, yes you got the right family,
The Alexander (Weatherhead) was really a Gattings or Gatains they had a great time with his name.
I cant find him on any census, the name is so difficult to find.

Thanks again

I've looked at William John's birth on scotlandspeople. The marriage of John Green' labourer, and Ann Corson took place June 1st 1859 in South Shields.

Edit Can't find it on freebmd though.

I wonder if this is Andrew. I would imagine he is a stepson, not son in law. He is married.

It looks as if you have solved another mystery with my Gattins chap.
Thank you again!!

It seems Ann Corson and him didnt live together in 1871.

You have been busy on my behalf,I really am grateful.
