too right Jax, anyone going on google and putting in the name mitchell is likely to pick up on these postings.

I did not realise this until I tried googling the name of a long gone relative ( I was getting desperate as I had hit a brick wall) and low and behold up came my posting with all the details that I had so far found. so please beware, especially if the people concerned are still alive and kicking.

It's a long story, definitely not able to speak to them. She has a southern accent now, been down South over 40 years now.

The family is pretty weird how they married, I hope you can stay in touch with this as I explain

1970 - Brenda Mitchell married David John Lovekin
1975 - Brenda Lovekin marries Rodney Stephen Englefield (Rodney died in 1987)
1987 - Brenda Englefield marries David Robert Englefield (yes Rodney's brother)

1983 - Mary Mitchell marries David Robert Englefield (yes same one, Brenda nicked him from her own sister). Mary doesn't have a middle name.

Any more tips?

Why don't you take the bull with both horns, swallow your pride and go and start talking to that side of the family. You'll gain so much more than just information.

I am new to this game, I'm trying to find my grandmother's parents. Unfortunately I don't speak to that side of my family and nobody else knows any information so I can't source this from anywhere else but online.

Brenda Mitchell born 1954 - this is all I know of my grandmother, I know she is still alive but as I said before, we don't speak to that side of the family so I don't have a birth date at all. I have just got her marriage certificate which was on 1st May 1970 at Hounslow Register Office, she was 16 years old so this puts her born either 1953 or 1954 depending on her birthday, her father is still alive on the marriage certificate and is called George Mitchell a Toolmaker. All else I know is she has a sister called Mary Mitchell who married in 1983 making her likely to be born around 1963 c +- 5 yrs.

I have tried looking for Brenda Mitchell and Mary Mitchell to see if any mother's maiden names match on Ancestry but the problem is I don't even know where they were born.

Does anyone have any sort of help so I can look for this, or any hints or tips?

Kylie.
