Seeking decendants of Beatrice Moore - Peacehaven

I`m trying to track down any family of my dad who was adopted. He has a birth cert but it appears to not be his as I have traced the family of that `Brian Moore` who existed himself . All I am left with are the name of his grandmother who handed him over, the street she lived in at the time and her occupation.
She was Beatrice Moore and in the late 30`s was living in Wellington Rd, Peacehaven and was a seamstress. Died in London a few years later .
As she was a grandmother I guess her DOB as 1890 -/+ 10yrs.
Not sure if dads mum would have been her daughter or daughter in law but would like to know any family this Beatrice had.
All help much appreciated
Nicci

Have you tried the library at Peacehaven (or nearest one to it) to see if you can find her on the Electoral Register. You may find who was living with her at the time.

You need to know whether Moore was her maiden or married name.

Do you have Beatrice's death cert? This will give the informant, whether or not she was married, and address.

was he officially adopted or just 'handed over' as you said. If he was officially adopted then there should be some records some where. He would have to apply to see them via social services.

Have a look on here: (copy and paste into your browser)

Thanks for all the advice.
Still no further forward but may be able to get someone over to Lewes record dept where they say they still have records re the Peacehaven inhabitants in the 30`s.
If anyone knows anyone else who lived in Wellington Rd, Peacehaven, S/E England perhaps they could do some digging. Only 16 houses in the road.
Thanks
