Hi

I am trying to find James Reardon, born 1836 ish, Ireland and brother Edward Reardon, born c1831, Ireland.

I have found them on the 1871 census in Liverpool but can find no earlier reference to them. James married Bridget Campbell who I know was from the Dundalk region of Ireland so it is possible James and Edward hailed from here also.

Do the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census records cover Ireland and if not can anyone advise what records might be available for this time period.

Thanks in advance

Gee

Thank you Ginny, how did you manage to find that in the space of minutes when I have spent hours searching! Sometimes I think I can't see the wood for the trees. I now feel more hopeful he might turn up on 1851 and 1841 ones so I can establish who his parents were.

Thanks

Safc thank you as well. I am pretty sure this is my man as all later generations seem to have married here as well and Cornelius is a family name, I think one of his son's or grandson was a Cornelius.

Thank you so much

Hi Helen
Thanks for the above, what exactly does this probate mean? Will there be a written document I can view or order? Never used probate records before

Many thanks to all, this has all been a huge help, I now know the fathers of both James and Edward Reardon (Reirden) and Bridget Campbell's father which is an added bonus.

Despite using all kinds of combinations for the spelling of Reardon, I have been unable to locate Cornelius Reirden, so I assume that the family were in Ireland during the 1840's and 1850's where I am guessing there were no census records.

Your time and help has been appreciated.
