Member Since: September 2009 Posts: 8 Send Message	I am trying to trace the marriage of Joseph Reynolds and Catherine Harris they had a son Thomas 1843 in Dudley.I have searched BMD post1837 and famiily search pre 1837 without success I am thinking that they were married pre 1837 in a Dudley or Sedgley Parish Church does anyone know where these church records could be researched? Or perhaps a suggestion to help me solve the problem. Janetta

	There is this set of marriages which has two of the female partners missing. Member Since: September 2009 Posts: 8 Send Message	Thanks for your reply Jonesey My gg grand fathers birth certificate which has photostat details of the original entry states the mothers name is Catherine Harris I have checked the census returns for Caroline Harris/Reynolds future family in 1851 & 1861 and it could be a perfect match for my GG Grandfathes family .But again his birth certificate definately states that his mothers name is Catherine

The census returns have a Joseph Reynolds as father and son Thomas who could be my gg grand father correct age etc but his birth certificate states the mothers name is Catherine not Caroline. Is it reasonable to assume the birtth certificate riginal entry was incorrect?

	Janette In your case i wouldn't like to say but......My Gt G/dad on his children's B/C, his M/C and all the census he name is down as William, it took up ages to find his birth The reason we couldn't find it was because his name was Samuel & William was his middle name Further back i have a Susannah that was a Sarah on the 1841

Member Since: September 2009 Posts: 8 Send Message	Hi Jonesey The occupation of Joseph Reynolds on his sons birth certificate is a screwforger and The Coppice is within the area one would expect to find them .I dont think I will ever get a definitive answer, it is really annoying but that is the nature of family history research . I will order a copy of Caroline/Joseph marriage certificate it might show she had a middle name or a wittness name might a give a clue . Thanks every one for helping
