Joseph Richardson, arrived Winnipeg 1911

Joseph Richardson was my father's uncle. Born in 1877 in Cootehill, Co Cavan. His parents were William Alexander Richardson and Susan Drury.

Joseph moved to Coatbridge, Scotland around 1900. Married Janet Rae in 1904. They had 4 children; William Alexander b 1905 d 1907, Jeanie Boyd b 1906 d 1907, Robert James b 1908 and Janet Alexander Rae b 1910.

Joseph emigrated to Winnipeg in 1911 and was followed by his wife and 2 children in 1912. They had a daughter Agnes in 1913. In the 1916 census they lived in 415 Agnes Street in Winnipeg. Janet died in Scotland in 1963.

Did they have any more children after 1916? What happened to Joseph? In the present day telephone directory there are 84 Richardsons in Winnipeg. Which of them are descendants of Joseph and Janet?

but you're alreadt close to MB's 100/80/70 y closure for BMDs.

Thanks to both of you. The 100/80/70 limits are my problem. I had hoped to find a descendant. Failing that I will need to take a holiday in Manitoba and check with the records office.

Yeah, it would be nice to find someone on a tree - have you looked pn this site? - and Ancestry?

Yes, I have found quite a few branches of the Richardson tree on both this site and Ancestry, but there are still gaps. I am still looking for 3 brothers and a sister of Joseph, but I will get back to that later. The problem is all to do with the records that were destroyed in Ireland in 1922 and earlier.
