Hi, my name is Debra Hofmeier. My mother's maiden name was Rodda, she was born 12th Jan. 1914 at Moonta Mines in South Australia. Her mother was Ivy (nee Pidwell- Vial) Rodda. She was born to John Vial & Eliza Pidwell-Vial on the 2nd August 1895 at Wallaroo Mines. Ivy married a John Rodda, born 19th April 1891 at Moonta Mines, they had 6 children. John Rodda was the third son of William James Rodda born 23rd August 1860 at Burra in Sth. Aust, married to Mary Jane Carter. They had from what information I have 11 children, Mary died in 1900. William Rodda re-married 4 months later to Emma Mutton, they had 6 children, twin girls died same day they were born, and another died a few weeks after birth. William James Rodda's father, James Rodda christened 23rd November 1834, born at Crowan, Cornwall, England, married a Mary Sincock, born in 1836 at Cornwall. They had 9 children, all born in Kooringa, Burra or Moonta Mines, South Australia. If anyone can help me find my family, please notify me, Thankyou.
