Emily married Wm Birkett & had 4 children she died @ the age of 40yrs, her brother was still alive when his mother Isabella died in 1916 [Isabella re-married after Wm W died to Wm Gordon Fraser she out lived him too] But I can'nt find Wm Frederick after the 1891 census. I geuss Isabella had a sad live. Ihave a scrapbook that she made & she appeared to be very religious. Joan

I was expecting to find this mob in RI 1850 - the nominal date of the census was 1/6/1850, just 2 days short of 10m before the UK 30/3/1851 (although in the US, the actual enumeration took place after the fact, probably not much after in RI, but 1mo after is not rare in rural western US). Anyway, I didn't find them in the US - not that I'm saying they're not hiding somewhere there, though.

mgnv

You could be right.

I just thought it funny that the child was called Margaret and there is no sign of Margaret used in the Rowell line. As we know often the eldest daughter is named after the mother or grandmother. Also, of course his second wife was Margaret.

As for her being born Northumberland, I just thought it might be where he met and married his second wife.

Waddya think?

Hi mgnv This is great you've found a bit more on Isabella in the form of date's how do you do it? I have a book that Isabella made consisting of picture's from soap packets, flower's & the like's, with poem's, which is a nice keepsake. The info you have gave me on Isabel/la Hindmarsh is very helpful. Thanks Joan

Other unconnected? Rowell's on images 201, 225, 233(twice), 235, 238(twice), 245(thrice), 252, 255(twice), 256.

The more interesting are:

Ozi - I don't agree re Margt. I think she was probably Alice's kid.
I don't find a b.rego for her, but then I don't find an m.rego for David & Margt, so I can't look up her former kids rego's. Anyway, nothing definite, but I'm just persuaded by the pob=Northumberland in 1851.

Ozibird Report 21 Jul 2010 21:02

Joan, as you can see on my post of 6:42, I found the death of Alice DEAR, not Dean, in 1845. Then David was remarried in 1851 and 1861 censuses, and his death in 1865.

I don't believe he and Alice had any children.

If you had all that information why are you still looking for her as per your post of 23:10?

Hi Ozi I did get the info you found but no other info since this so I am thinking they must have died before the next census & I have'nt yet found if maybe the spelling, as it took me 5yrs to find another relative that the spelling was translated totally wrong but when you seen the census it was on I could read it no problem, I think the translator must have been tired !! Thanks for the input. Joan

Hi Sylvia Thank's for all the help I feel I'v jumped way ahead in a very short time, I found Jane & Wm Nobel on the 1891 census, & found all the baptism's so I know most of the middle name's some of which are unusual to say the least, as follow's Wilhelmina Edgarina, Mark Athel, Alicia Beatrice Hubert Arthur [E?], Adeline Jane Blander & Sparke Hughow, see what I mean! I also found Wm died@ the end of 1909 aged 77yrs & I think I've found Jane's death @ the begining of 1919 aged 83yrs, her sister Isabella Edgar [Parkinson] died @ the end of 1916 aged 79yrs in the Carlisle area [Cumberland] Isabella's son Wm Frederick was the only fam she had left alive even though I can't find him on the census after 1891.
