Hi
I am trying to trace my Whatmore family tree, I have got as far as my gt gt grandfather William Whatmore he married Isabella Edgson in 1884 in Fulham.
I seem to be having trouble finding anything on William before he was on the 1891 census with Isabella after they were married.
I know that his fathers name was George Whatmore and that he was born in Micheldever Hampshire in 1860 (he was 24 when he married in 1884).
Hopefully someone will be able to help me as I am getting really frustrated.
Thanks Sam

There is this marriage on FreeBMD:-

December Q 1841 Winchester RD
George WHATMORE & Jane TRIMMER

According to the 1861 census George is 49 giving him a dob c 1812.
I have the Hampshire Baptism Index from 1813-1841,but I wonder if this is him?

Baptism-11 Dec 1814 Micheldever
WOTTMORE George s Richard & Ann

You would probably need George's marriage certificate to be sure of his fathers name

There are more children baptised either at Micheldever or East Stratton variously spelt!

This is Jane's baptism at E/Stratton
07 Nov 1819-TRIMMER Jane d William & Elizabeth

I can let you have the other children of Richard and Ann if you think it is the right family.

Marriage 28 February 1813 at Micheldever
Richard WATMORE & Ann BALL

Hi
Thank you all for your help and information. It is possible that William lied about his age, but without trying to get a copy of his marraige certificate, I will find it very hard to prove.
Williams dad George was a labourer on Williams Marraige cert. and also I beleive that William and Isabela lived at 5 Devonshire terrace, I assume in Fulham when they married I do not know if this is of any use to any one.
I will still keep trying and will use the information that you have provided .
Thanks again Sam
