Hi trying to trace the parents and siblings of John Butterworth born1820 in Heywood Lancs he was a stone mason married to Amelia they had 9 children including sons joseph1847 john 1851 samuel james and garibaldi,1901
Garibaldi is my husbands grt grandfather There are sisters called esther mary, harriet and amelia please get in touch they moved to chorlton mchester but had come from heywood think Amelia snr was from yorkshire

P.S. - Just realised - you have put Garibaldi's dob as 1901 above, yet his closest sibling was born about 50 years previously ??

Are you sure about Garibaldi's birth date? John and Amelie would have been in their 80s in 1901!

The birth cert of one of the children would give you Amelia's maiden name and then you could look for a marriage. That cert would give you both partners father's names and then you could look on the 1841 census to see if John was living with his parents.
