It's possible Fritz might have changed his name to Frank or some such if he settled in England.

Does her marriage certificate give an occupation for him?

Have you done a preliminary search of incoming passengers at Ancestry? Even without paying you can see what the results list looks like for the names.

FreeBMD has four Fritz Becker events in total:

marriage 1873 Hull
death 1918 aged 28, Stafford
marriage 1941 Salford
marriage 1946 Paddington

Where do you have the 1864 dob from?

Is this her in 1881?

Name: Wilhelmina Becker
Age: 23
Estimated birth year: abt 1858
Relation: Servant
Where born: Preußen

Civil parish: Paddington

-- no, I suspect this is her:

Age: 19
Estimated birth year: abt 1862

Where born: Curs Haven, Germany
Civil parish: Lewisham

(The census image is virtually unreadable at Ancestry)

I would imagine she went to England alone. The single likely suspect in 1881 would be:

Name: Frank Becker
Age: 47
Estimated birth year: abt 1834
Relation: Head
Spouse's name: Susannah
Where born: Hahndorf (F), Germany

Civil parish: Bath St James
County/Island: Somerset
> Occupation: Musician

Frank Becker 47
Susannah Becker 35 born Devon
Frank B. Becker 5
Serodrick W. Becker 2

Marriages Dec 1877
Becker Frank William Newton A. 5b 262
BECKER William Newton A 5b 262
Sanders Susannah Newton A 5b 262

if a second marriage in England.

Hörde is not especially close to Hahndorf in Germany.

Do you suppose it's at all possible the household she was in, in 1881, was a married sister? I believe the head of household's place of birth says Achen.

Their child's birth certificate would give the mother's name:

Births Jun 1881
PEETZ Lilian Harriet E Lewisham 1d 1073

The couple was apparently married in Germany. So of course it's likely that they hired Wilhelmina there to travel to England with them and she was not related.

hello janey
thankyou for all your view points
i realise her year is probably copied from her husbands its rough birth year i have used it from the marriage cert
wilhelminas fathers occupation is a foreman in clothing factory.

i did send for the marriage cert for otto , the only 2 coinincidences are otto being a tailor and the mother being dorothea which is a family name of wilhelminas daughter.
i did accept the wilhelmina as a servant as a possible sister to the family, but i didnt note the place name atlena as achen
its good having another pair of eyes looking
thank you

Quite welcome! If it did turn out the family in 1881 were related, at least you'd have some other names and possibly living rellies to track down!
