Find Ancestors

I am trying to find out if William b.1848 in Middlesex & Elizabeth b.1854 Worcestershire, had any other children besides Nellie Grace, b. 1875 in New York. According to a 1911 census William Hendrie Thomson was in Jersey had been married, had 6 children but only 1 alive. Maybe he is a different William, although his other details are much the same. He was a widower when he married Elizabeth.

1911 census asked for the number of children born in the current marriage....and connected the info to the wife's name...........

When were William's marriages?

When one checks the image, all the info about marriage and children has been crossed through....obviously written in error!

There is no way that the census would record that sort of info on a man living away from his wfie...........

On a trying to find reply. This 1911 census showed he was a lodger?

I think he would have filled it in and then crossed it out perhaps when it was checked

Yes, but his wife ( 6a 321)and daughter (6a 322) both died in Sept. 1871. He then remarried, to Elizabeth Fifield in 1872.

Ann, your opening query asked if he had any children other than Nellie Grace. So you already knew about Agnes B?

Yes, sorry, that was an oversight on my part. The query mainly came from the 1911 census. I wondered if he and Elizabeth had any more after Nellie Grace?

I found them (that is William, Elizabeth and Nellie) on the 1880 american census, but couldn't find them after that. Nellie and her mother returned to England in 1890. I have also seen Nellies marriage cert and her father was a witness in 1904. this was from Ancestry. Hope this isn't too muddling!
