James McPherson cleared the town of Raitts just north of Kingussie in 1801, 1802 and 1806 and destroyed their homes. There were various sections and they listed where the families lived in the town, Main Raitts, Wester Raitts, Midtown Raitts, Easter Raitts, Upper Raitts Raldhu Raitts and Tillysoul of Raitts In the Parish of Alvie were 103 Families, 500 people and amoung them were the families of Duncan MacBean - Wester Raitts, William McBean, Christian McBean, Duncan McBean - Upper Raitts, and Paul McBean. Can anyone assist in any information on these families? If you ever want to see a great archealogical site then visit the Raitts as we did last year. All the best. Terence Read
