I am looking for information on the family of my father - who grew up in the Hartlepool area of England. My father's siblings (eldest to youngest) are as follows: Mary Ann Elizabeth Taylor - born Hartlepool, 7/10/1916. Jessie Taylor - born Hartlepool, 1919 John William Taylor (Billy) - born Hartlepool, 1921 Frank Taylor - born Hartlepool, 1923 Nellie Taylor (later changed her name to Agnes) - born Hartlepool, 1926 Alan Taylor - born Hartlepool, 12.5.1928 Dora Taylor - born Hartlepool, 1929 Eileen Taylor - born Hartlepool, 1932 Edward Taylor - born Hartlepool, 1934 Patricia Lola Taylor - born Ipswich, 20/9/1939 James Howard Taylor - born Islington, 1940. Going back one generation. My Grandfather John William Taylor was born 1/12/1895 in Hartlepool, and was christened on 14.1.1896 at the Burbank Street Chapel. He had one brother - Albert Taylor - who was born in Hartlepool in 1900 - I am trying to find what happened to him. Their parents were: William Benjamin Taylor - born in Hartlepool in March, 1872; married in Hartlepool in March, 1896, Mary Ann Cail - born Wolverhampton, Midlands in 1873, married in Hartlepool in March, 1896, My Great Grandfather, William Benjamin Taylor - had two siblings, both born in Hartlepool - Albert Taylor (born 1880) and Dora Taylor (born 1883) Their parents were: John Taylor (born 1857 in Middlesborough, York) and Annie Elizabeth Wilson (born 1857 in Middlesborough, York). They were married in 1875 in York. My Great Grandmother Mary Ann Taylor (nee Cail) was born in Wolverhampton, Midlands in 1873. I am having a bit of difficulty confirming information about her. My Grandmother Mary Elizabeth Killen was born 16 October, 1898 in Hartlepool. She had one sister - Jessie Killen, born 1900 in Hartlepool - who married Harold Lewis (born 1902) in 1927. Their parents were Brian Killen - born 1871 in Hartlepool - married in Hartlepool in 14/6/1897 - died in Hartlepool on 27 March, 1949 Agnes Killen (nee McAndrew) - born 2 May, 1873 in Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland - married in Hartlepool in 14/6/1897 - died in Hartlepool in 1914 My Great Grandfather Brian Killen - had four siblings - all born in Hartlepool - Thomas (1973), Michel <spelling correct> (1877) Jane (1874) and Sarah (1875). Their father was: John Killen - born Ireland. He was a fireman (which could have meant that he put out fires or that he stoked up fires in factories or engines). Somehow - despite being in Hartlepool at the time his children were conceived - he seems to have been out of England when ever each of the censuses were taken (1851, 1861, 1871, 1881) - and he had died by 1891 (because his wife was shown as a widow in the 1891 census. Their mother was Mary Killen - born in Ireland - and probably married there also - but I haven't managed to get details (Ireland is hard to get genealogy details). My Great Grandmother Agnes Killen (nee McAndrew) - - born 2 May, 1873 in Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland - married in Hartlepool in 14/6/1897 - died in Hartlepool in 1914. Her parents were Francis (Frank) McAndrew - born in 1849 in East Lothian and Elizabeth Harkess (born 1849 in East Lothian. The 1891 census shows the family living at 14 Bedford Street, Hartlepool. There was Frank (aged 42), Elizabeth, aged 42), Agnes (aged 17), Elizabeth (aged 14) and Frank (aged 5).
