Lorraine Blackwood Glasgow ancestors Trying to trace details of Helen Sawers no birth/death dates available. She married my grandfather Alexander TAYLOR on 30 April 1920 at Garngadhill Glasgow. On my fathers birth certificate it shows his mothers name as Helen Semple Blackwood Taylor previously Cox maiden name Sawers.My fathers name was William. My maiden name was Taylor and I married into the Blackwood family so I am very curious how my grandmother had the name Blackwood all those years ago. I do know she was married previously and I assume the surname was Cox going by the information on the birth certificate. She had three daughters by her previous husband and they were named Nan,Ellen and Sophie.They are all now deceased. Any help gratefully appreciated |
