Trying to find out information relating to an Elizabeth Howcroft who was born in Stanningley Leeds in c 1849. Elizabeth came from a large family.Known siblings are Mary Ann, Hannah,Nanny,Ruth,Job and John. Hannah Howcroft maried a Henry Albert Forrest in Bradford and they had at least four children James A Forrest Annie Forrest George Forrest John Forrest Mary Ann married Joshua Lumby and had the following children John Lumby Margaret Lumby Hannah Lumby Joseph Lumby Robert Lumby John Howcroft married Elizabeth (? Keighley) and had the following children John Edward Howcroft Ramsden Howcroft Martha Appleyard Howcroft Nanny married George Craig in Bradford in 1873 and they had the following children Arthur Craig 1880 Herbert Craig 1885 Ethel Craig 1892 Elizabeth's father was called Robert, born 1822-1889, he came from Aberford in Leeds and married Margaret Wilcock. His father before him was John Howcroft born 1780 Aberford married to Hannah. Any information would be appreciated. Elizabeth married Samuel Hartley Hill in Bradford c Dec 1867. They had the following children Margaret Ann Hill Emma Hill John Hartley Hill James Hartley Hill James Hartley Hill married Jane Walker of Leeds and had two children Nellie and james Hartley Hill. Besides Robert Howcroft mentioned above, John and Hannah Howcroft had the following children John Howcroft c1818 Ann Howcroft 1814 Ann Howcroft 1812 Mary Howcroft 1816 married Jonathon Fowler child Hannah Sarah Howcroft 1816 John Howcroft was born in Aberford c1784. He was the son of John Howcroft and Mary Brogden. Other siblings were Betty Howcroft c1777 Sarah Howcroft c1780 Robert Howcroft c 1781 married Mary Richmond 1814 (more ) John Howcroft was born in 1752 and married Mary Brogden on the 15th Nov 1774 in Harewood.John was the son of Robert Howcroft (cordwainer) and Sarah Wood. There other children were Sarah Howcroft c1754 Wm Howcroft c1756 married Sarah Durham 1783 (more) James Howcroft c1760 Robert Howcroft c1750 married Mary (more) Would love to hear from anybody with potential links/info about this family |
