I would be grateful for any information on the Woodhead family from Oswaldtwistle. Thanks in anticipation.

I have scores of my family in Oswaldtwistle. No Woodheads as yet. Please give names and dates.

Thank you for your prompt reply.I seem to have got as far back as 1861 census for twins Benjamin and Joseph Woodhead, born in Oswaldtwistle, Lancs , circa 1853. I think they had a siblings Selina Woodhead, born circa 1857 and Elizabeth Woodhead circa 1844. In 1861 they were living with an uncle and aunt John and Mary Lord in Stanhill Road, Oswaldtwistle. Why they were living there I don't know, Benjamin Woodhead was living apart from his wife and family in the 1901 census. He was my great grandfather and his daughter Jane was my grandmother. I have used census information and Lancashire online parish records. where possible. It would be great if you had any information of the Woodheads.Thanks in anticipation. Ann

.... Mary Woodhead (nee Lord) died 1858, Oswaldtwisle

...... which accounts for the children being farmed out!
