Of cabbages and kings:

Wills: I usually update mine every couple of years or so as things and attitudes change constantly. Just about to update again to include great grandchildren, something I never expected to have to do.

On the same subject Ancestry has just extended the date range of their Probate Calendar database. It is now possible to search from 1858 to 1966.

Garage doors: Yesterdays posts reminded me of something I found amusing at the time. Some years ago one of my neighbours who was an engineer working on telephone exchanges for the GPO decided to motorise his hinged garage doors. This was before the days of infra red remote controls so he installed a timer. He initially set to open the doors at about 7:30am, close them at 8:00am, open them again at 5:30pm and close them at 6:30pm. These times coincided with when he left for and returned from work.

Everything worked perfectly during the first few weekdays but he discovered the flaw in the system on the first Saturday, when after having a bit of a lie in he wasn't then able to get his car out of the garage until teatime.

Hey Julie.......if you need hydrating, if it's a hot day when you are in hospital, why not suggest they set you up in the gardens and let you lie under the sprinkler with refreshment being brought at regular intervals?? :-D :-D Hope all goes well.

We are back from our home visits today.

We are tired but that is partly down to the heat. The last one did not happen. The son spoke to us about 2 weeks ago of a patient we have seen regularly for a few years. We called up yesterday to book and we were given the go ahead. We got there today and he was distressed as a national mobile company had turned yesterday and tested him and presented him with a hefty bill. The annoying thing is that someone else could have had that slot.

Jules what a lovely offer thank you.

Gee

Gee Report 23 May 2012 20:03

A national mobile company...I thought you meant phones, you numpty!

Why dont you take that offer up from Jules then...I think she must have lots of info and support to help you and R with <3

Now, where the heck is everyone else?
