Find Ancestors

I am trying to make contact with my great aunts children who might have information about her family so I am able to fill in some missing pieces of my family jig saw.

Mary LEEwas born in November 1927 to Elsie Grace Lee ( nee Lovelock ) and frederick Lee ( parents Matthew and Caroline Annie ) who lived at The Crescent, Andover ,Hampshire.Mary was the youngest of 4 sisters - Agnes Alice b 1909 (always been referred to as Alice ), Marjorie Ivy b 1913 and Lily E b 1917 all as far as i know born in Pewsey,Wiltshire Mary's middle could be Gwendoline or Grace.

Mary was brought up with my mother who was only 2 years younger than her. My mother remembers living in St Marybourne near Andover when she was very young with Mary ,Elsie and Fred.

Marjorie worked at Andover Hospital as a cook and had 4 chldren out of wedlock.. Lily - possible marriage to a Thomas Evans in 1939 n Andover and nothing known about Alice ( my mum's mother ) but I am awaiting her birth certificate.

Mary probably lived in Andover for most of her life - she married Harold Broom around 1948 and had 4 children although this i'm not sure of - she certainly had 2 that i know - Linda and David. I have a photo of Mary with 2 of her children and Elsie taken around 1950/2. If anyone knows Andover they will remember a cafe called The Linger Longer Cafe where Mary was said to have worked.She also worked in a laundry or factory of some sort locally.

Mary's children would now be between 50 and 60 yrs old. I have details of possible birth dates but I dont know where to go from here - If someone has any information on any of their whereabouts I would be so grateful as they are the only people who could fill in my missing links.

Years ago I visited Andover library and found Frederick Lee as living at their house in The Crescent up to 1957 which is around the time of his death. I seem to remember that the name changed to Brown but now I know that Mary's married name was Broom perhaps I misread it. Does anyone know if you can get this local information on-line.

If there is anyone out there who lived in Andover between 1940 and 1990 or now who could help me please let me know.

Try asking Jean on the Records Office board for a look-up in the 2009 Electoral Roll. She may be able to help.
