Do you have Martin and Emma's marriage certificate? It would give Martin's fathers name making the search easier.

Possible??

Lorraine...Martin married Emma Smith June quarter Reg.1873 Whitechapel....

You need to get his MC to determine fathers name..You could also check the Whitechapel area 1871 see if any other Murphy's are around...

Not found him on the 1871 census.
Was hoping to find him on the 1911 census as it gives more details on place of birth.
1911 found two Martin Murphy's in London.
One in Fulham Workhouse from Wexford(unable to view original at the moment) and one in Lambeth from Laois called Martin Frederick who is with his Sister in law Isabella McIntyre and her children.

Found him!
He's from Cork.
If you go to irishgenealogy.ie you maybe able to find more info on the family. It would make a big different if you know his date of birth or his Dad's name. Good Luck.

ANOTHER QUESTION .. IN THE 1911 CENSUS THERE IS A BIG AGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OTHER CENSUS HE SAYS HE WAS B 1844 BUT ALL THE OTHERS LIST B.1851 WHY IS THIS DO U THINK?

Alemap

Alemap Report 15 Sep 2011 12:45

Possibilities.
Transcription error could be 1854 not 1844
Quite common for people to say they are younger or older than they actually are. Makes life interesting for those searching.
Someone else filled the census in an was not sure how old he was.

If the death index matches with the last census information.
