Find Ancestors

I am looking for any information on the surnames Hinks, Kabanez, Ottopowski or Ottopofski in the Somerset, Wiltshire area. I was born as Tony Roger Kabanez in 1959 and was adopted at 6 weeks old, and become Colin John Sweed, I live in Southampton. i know my mother was Anna Ottopowski and maybe Pedro Kabanez was my father, I think my mother married a Ivor P.G. Hinks in 1968, and maybe i have brothers called David, Ivor, Steven and Michael Hinks and sisters Valerie and Amanda. I dont know if i am on the right path but i have come to a complete halt, can anyone help me any further.

It is also very unlikely that someone with connections to those names will just happen by this pot.

You might have much more luck searching the trees to see if anyone has these names in there.


Look for the Search Trees tab in the dark green band above

Click on that

You can contact the tree owner(s) if any positives come up.


Just click on the tree owner's name and send a message through the internal system to them.

Do you have your original birth cert?

As you were registered in your father's name, HIS name will be on the cert

With such unusual names to research, you could look in the BT phone book

BUT - if you find anything, think very carefully about whether to try to make contact
