Find Ancestors

Hi all
Just trying to track the marriage of a jane clegg , daughter of thomas clegg and possibly alice haworth. I know she is on the 1881 census living with her father and brothers , but just wondering if she has married to possibly sam catlow in burnley or perhaps she is still living with her father in 1891, which i am hoping for. Other siblings include gertie and richard a clegg though i think that richard married in 1885 anyway to a rosannah walker. I know a jane clegg did marry a samuel catlow in 1881 but not sure if its my jane clegg.

do you have a date of birth for Jane?

She was 19 in 1881 and i think she was born in 1862 mothers maiden name haworth. So i am glad she didnt marry him, as my great gran married into same catlow family. phew. ! I think she is still unmarried then by 1891 , does it give an address for that 1891 census? Think its the correct one because arthur is a brother from the earlier census in 1881 when they lived on padiahm road and alice was still alive, first wife of thomas. He went on to marry another alice in 1885. :-)

The address for the record Jonesey found in 1891 is 219 Colne Road, Burnley.

There is a family of Catlows at number 229.

It does not state what relationship Sarah Marsden is to Thomas.

She is a Grocer...Single....Born Kendal Westmoorland.

Perhaps partner but not admitted to then , as thomas has been without alice for a while i think. Now im trying to find jane and arthurs marriages. Or deaths. With jane there are a few choices. Even some catlow, herbert. The ones on colne road , doesnt include a herbert does it?

No idea about arthur , just know its not arthur edward because they are a lot from padiahm st johns. Cant find a death or a marriage that i can pin on him. Arthur born approx 1877. Can anyone spot him in 1901?

Have deleted the info I first added which was taken from a thread started today but now realise that there is yet another thread to which the in fo has now been transferred.
