Given that Nettlefold is such an unusal surname I am sure that all of us with that name must be connected in some way. Nettlefold is my maiden name and I have a brother in Canada. My father, Allan, is deceased and little is known about his family as he was not raised by his parents. I believe he did have siblings but I never knew them. I recall that a sibling died when I was young, probably in the 1960s. I also recall that my father's aunt had an unusual name too: Puddiephat. My father was born in London and I think his father was an ostler in South London. He was brought to Scotland when a few months'old. I have met other Nettlefolds. Spookily I met a young lady called Nettlefold in the mid-1990s at a library conference. I say this is spooky as she, my brother and I are all librarians! I also met a lady called Henrietta Nettlefold once, who ran a company called Sparklers Shirts - she was a Nettlefold by marriage. I have also come across a Julian Nettlefold, who is/was an aerospace analyst for an investment bank in London. Searching for the name on the internet brings up lots of Nettlefolds in Australia. I hope that over time we can join the links.
