I am trying to trace a connection with two branches of the Thornley family, Frank Alfred Thornley born 11.03 1886 married Emma Haigh on 13.7.1903 in Gr Harwood and they emmigrated to Canada the beginning of the 1900's, Franks father was William Thornley and he was born 25.02.1862 and died 07.03.1918 and was buried in St.Leonards Cemetery, Middleton, Lancs,. and his parents were James Thornley and Eliza Heaton. My grandfather was Joseph Thornley born 1882 in Orcop in Herefordshire, although his family were from the Middleton area and he did return to the area and all his children were born in or around Chadderton, Josephs parents were William Thornley and Miriam, William was from Lancashire but Miriam was born in Hereford and they married there, but returned to Lancs for work. If anyone has anyinformation that can connect these families I would love to hear from you, Many thanks,Elsie |
